Dead Horse Point
| This park is so named because years ago people drove their horses here and tried to "break" them; the ones who didn't prove worthy were left here, and most were found dead later at the dramatic point overlooking the Colorado River (I wouldn't have jumped for water either). Anyway, the "Point" affords unbeatable views of not only the twisting Colorado River, but also the adjacent Canyonlands. |
